Dr. Suleiman Abimbola Yahaya

Dr. Suleiman Abimbola Yahaya (R.Eng (COREN)) is the Ag. Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering since 2021 and an astute project manager and data analyst. He obtained his PhD (Biomechanics) from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia in 2021, his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ilorin in 2016 and his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi in 2008. His PhD project centred around the performance evaluation of 3D printed hip protectors with biomechanical test system. He is an expert in creating biomedical solution using design tools and additive manufacturing. He champions design of 3D prototypes for healthcare interventions. Dr Yahaya is skilled in Fusion 360, Abaqus and Origin. He’s research interest includes optimization of various biomedical solutions such as hip protectors; modelling using MATLAB and other statistical tools; Using Design Expert software and other software for simulation and optimization.
